Are You Standing on the Rock

Matthew 7:24-29 “”Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching. For He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.”

Foundations are very important, without them there is no support for building upon. This is the same in our life. We need to build our lives on a firm foundation. Jesus says that we have a firm foundation in Him by hearing Him and doing as He says.  He is the rock that does not move. We can build our life on Jesus and know with certainty that our foundation will not be shaken. This starts with an admission that we need Jesus to save us. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.”  Then we can cry out to Him and call on His name. Romans 10:10 “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” 

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ , he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” As we have Christ in us we can walk in the newness of life that only He can give us. Let us walk in sureness of faith because we have Jesus as our foundation, for He truly is the rock of our salvation! Thank you Jesus for surrendering Your life so we can have Eternal life through you!
